I was thinking that we could open a topic so that we could all ask our questions regarding the assignment. Like this everyone can benefit from the answers.

My question concerns the type of project we need to choose for the assignment. Since we only have 3000 words, I assume it needs to be a “small” project. Could it be possible maybe to have some examples of past project that were used for such an assignment?

Good morning,

Thanks Sarah for taking this initiative. I totally agree with you. I also think that we require a session dedicated to the explanation of the assignment content; what is expected and to what level / detail etc. This should be delivered by someone directly involved with the assignment. Once this is all clear for us, we would be able to present our chosen projects (by e-mail?) individually for “approval”.

If we all agree on this, we can place a request to MBS Programmes Coordinator directly.

Yes I agree that having a session about the assignment could be a good idea since it looked like everyone has questions. In my opinion, it should be focused on general questions that can benefit everyone and not specific/personal questions. The issue is that we might have more questions later on, so I believe this forum could be a way to ask questions at a later stage.

It could also be good to have a contact from MBS (like you said someone directly involved with the assignment) so we can directly ask personal questions and confirm that our chosen project is suitable. We can also post questions here, even if they are related to our personal project, they might still benefit others!

Dear all,

Kindly note that the first point of contact with regards to the assignment and the person who is directly involved in the assessment process is your tutor. Therefore, it is best to ask your tutor for clarifications with regards to the assignment brief.

Below please find answers to some of your questions and concerns:

There is no need for approval of the projects.

It is best to choose the project you are/were directly involved with, since the assignment requires to have comprehensive knowledge about project budget, milestones, and roles of other people involved.

Think about the feasibility of the project. For the purpose of this assignment, it would be better to choose something relatively small (i.e., building of the ward rather than building of the whole hospital; creating a course rather than the whole 3-year study programme, etc.) Ask your tutor for a feedback, if you are unsure about your idea.

Considering the word limit, the answers to the assignment questions must be as concise and precise as possible and the information given should be strictly related to the project of your choice (with an exception of the Assessment Criteria that ask you about the company objectives). Give brief context where relevant but do not go overboard with the introduction and description of the company objectives, as the main focus of your assignment is your project and not the overview of the company operations as a whole.

Focus on Pass Criteria first and move on to Merit/Distinction Criteria only after you are sure you have explained Pass Criteria clearly enough.

Put tables and graphs in the Appendices to give yourself more space, but everything you put there need to be clearly mentioned and discussed in the text. Screenshots or snaps of tables/graphs inside the text are also acceptable, as long as they are readable and clearly named and referred to in the text.

Hi all,
I use Microsoft 365 but I have the desktop version with an account from work. I use Zotero, I am not sure whether or not you can have it with the online version. I used Zotero for my PhD and I had almost 400 references. It is free and it allows you to choose the style you want for your reference list and you can download more styles from the website if the one you want is not pre-installed. Every time you add a citation in your text it automatically adds the reference in your list.
