Aims and Objectives

This Level 7 qualification is designed as a short flexible entry point to enable learners to deepen their knowledge and understanding of Strategic Management.

The programme will provide the opportunity for learners to develop a breadth of knowledge and understanding of subject matter related to strategic management topics and issues. The programme will focus on the development of transferable skills necessary for learners to grow both personally and in the working environment and effectively help the organisation to enhance performance.

Our Teaching and Learning Approach

The Malta Business School values the following concepts:

Knowledge: We aim to provide all participants with high-level, up to date knowledge and information with which they can impress.

Applicability: We insist that knowledge should not remain in the realms of theory only. The participants will benefit from concrete ways of applying their knowledge to practical situations.

Interactivity: We advocate attendee participation, wherever possible, and like the use of questions, discussions, polls and case studies to involve all attendees.

Quality: Whether in the level of delivery, the course notes or the overall services, we make sure that participants enjoy the quality of service they deserve. We place a high value on the feedback received by our participants.

Prestige: A certificate from Malta Business School, whether of attendance or by following our assessed courses, will be a document you can be proud of.

Innovation: We are constantly looking for ways of improving, whether it is the content, the processes, methodologies or our style of delivery. Our portfolio of courses is at the forefront of the education scene.

Network: By being part of our network, you will enjoy access to and opportunities for building strong business and social bonds with like-minded professionals in Malta and around the world.

Live-Streamed Sessions Guidelines:

  • Please enter your session at least 5 minutes before you are scheduled to start and write down your name in the chat-box.
  • Please keep your mic on mute as soon as you enter a session. This reduces the background noise and makes it easier for everyone to hear the tutor better. When you want to ask a question just remember to unmute your mic.
  • Please keep your camera on! It really does not matter what your background is, or that a toddler/teenager walked in on your class, or that you are following the session from your sofa. We are all in the same boat … trying to study from home, each of us with our own particular challenges. Keeping the camera on makes it easier for the tutor to gather an understanding of whether you have grasped the topic from your facial expressions. Keeping the camera on also improves interaction between yourselves and the tutor and gives you more of a classroom feeling. Switching off the camera for a few minutes because you need to take a phone call, or talk to your partner, is ok. But keeping the camera switched off all the session is NOT ok.
  • Choose a good position for your camera. Strange perspectives can be a distraction to others. For example, you might want to check your background lightning. A very bright overhead light may mean that others cannot see you well.
  • For an optimal video function, it is suggested that you close off any un-needed applications.
  • For the best hearing experience, we suggest the use of headphones.
  • For the best speaking experience, we suggest the use of an external mic, however this is not strictly necessary. If you do not have a mic on your pc please use the chat function to ask questions. For all others with a mic, it would be nice if you can build our Malta Business School community and help each other with this by taking it in turns to monitor the chat function and politely alerting the tutor about these questions.
  • If you want to speak and/or ask a question please raise your hand physically to alert the tutor. Furthermore there is a “raise hand” function available at the bottom of your screen.
  • After you finish speaking and/or asking a question do let the others know by saying a sign-off phrase such as ‘thank you’, ‘that’s all from me for now’, and/or ‘I’m done for now’.
  • Avoid talking over and/or at the same time as others.
  • When your session is over, please remember to sign out or ‘leave the meeting’.
