Preserving Birgu’s cultural heritage while being sustainable with the Slow City Movement.

Birgu apart from being known as a very historical city, is also know for having one of the highest percentages in the country of the amount of senior citizens that live in said locality.

Apart from the restaurants that are found in the Marina area Birgu mostly has local family owned businesses / shops and has been like this for a very long time and it is very rare unless necessary that the residents go out of the city to buy products or services.
My idea is that since Birgu has an ageing population and that they love to support their local businesses and shops the Local Council as they have done before by investing in an electrical vehicle to take the elderly to go to the polyclinics and even the hospital, they can invest in a smaller electric vehicle that goes to the residents home which in this case is an elderly resident that is unable to go to the shop, gives the money to the driver then he goes to the local shop, collects for example his / her groceries and bring them back to the resident.

This would be both helping local small businesses while also helping the fight against climate change and air pollution by using a fully electric vehicle.
